Dr. Avi Gibberman was raised in Newport News, VA. He took an early interest in dentistry from observing both his father, an oral surgeon, and his uncle, a family and cosmetic dentist, at work. Always dreaming of one day working with them, he attended the University of Virginia in Charlottesville after graduating with highest honors from Ferguson High School.

In college, Dr. Gibberman volunteered at several free clinics and took a keen interest in medical research. Upon graduation, he went on to study dentistry at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond. In dental school, Dr. Gibberman served on various committees including admissions, curriculum, and the American Student Dental Association, to name a few. With his excellent leadership qualities and desire to contribute to his profession, Dr. Gibberman student-taught and tutored in several subjects at the undergraduate dental school.

After finishing many of his degree requirements early, Dr. Gibberman did a month-long externship at the Hampton, Virginia Veterans Administration Medical Center where he performed comprehensive dental care on medically compromised patients. Upon graduating second in his dental school class and magna cum laude, Dr. Gibberman was inducted into the elite Omicron Kappa Upsilon honor fraternity, an honor reserved for those not only in the top ten percent of their class academically, but also with superior leadership qualities.

Dr. Gibberman’s approach to treatment is patient-centered, giving his patients as many options as possible, and always involving them in decisions about their future oral health. Dr. Avi Gibberman brings to our practice the latest techniques and skills that dentistry has to offer, and appreciates the confidence his patients place in him to pursue their oral health and cosmetic goals.
